About Sen Saigon
Our Story
Chef An Nguyen Hawks, originally from Vietnam, has called New York City, "home"since 2014. Growing up, she indulged in the rich flavors of Vietnamese cuisine.
When An embraced a vegetarian and vegan lifestyle, her passion for cooking soared. Exploring new ingredients and crafting vegan recipes became her favorite form of artistic expression, particularly as she endeavored to recreate the beloved dishes from her Vietnamese roots.
Joining An on this culinary journey is her husband, Erik Dornbush Hawks. Together, they share a love for experimenting with - and sharing - diverse vegan cuisines.
Despite their enthusiasm, they faced a challenge in finding authentic vegan Vietnamese fare in the bustling streets of New York City. This sparked the idea of hosting pop-ups, an experience the couple found incredibly rewarding.
Now, a thrilling chapter unfolds: fueled by a love for creating and sharing delicious vegan Vietnamese dishes, An and Erik are excited to announce the upcoming opening of their very own Vietnamese restaurant.
Our Dishes
At Sen Saigon, we go the extra mile to source the best quality ingredients and cook each component of every dish so that the result is a symphony of flavors that our guests come to expect from delicious Vietnamese cuisine. We aim to delight our guests with our plant-based renditions of dishes they may already know and inspire them by introducing them to lesser-known, but still delicious, Vietnamese cuisine.
