About Us – Sen Saigon
Sen Saigon was born from a simple truth: An missed the flavors of home.
The broths simmering for hours, the freshness of herbs, the warmth of a perfectly toasted bánh mì — the kind of Vietnamese food that is soulful, comforting, and rooted in memory.
After moving to New York City, An searched for Vietnamese food that honored tradition and felt like something she could eat every day. When we later searched for those same flavors, but plant-based, we still couldn’t find anything that felt authentic, familiar, and truly Vietnamese.
So we created it.
Sen Saigon began as a series of small pop-ups across the city. We carried their ingredients across New York, cooked late into the night, and poured everything into bringing these dishes to life. We cooked wherever their was space, wherever we were invited, wherever there was space to share the flavors that An grew up with. Those early customers who lined up weren’t just buying food — they were validating our vision.
Today, Sen Saigon is a modern plant-forward Vietnamese kitchen in the Lower East Side, serving dishes inspired by An’s childhood and reimagined by both of us for a brighter, more compassionate future. Every bowl, every bánh mì, every summer roll carries memory, culture, and intention. But our mission is bigger than one restaurant.
Together, we are building a new chapter for Vietnamese cuisine — one that is sustainable, scalable, and deeply authentic. Through our storytelling, our food, and our community partnerships, we hope to share a piece of home while helping shape a more compassionate food system.
